MyExpenseTracker ("the App") is developed and maintained by Vipul Vishnu ("we", "us", "our"). This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Data We Collect
The App collects and stores the following data:
- Expense data: Amounts (in INR), category names, and dates that you manually enter into the App.
- Custom categories: Category names you create within the App.
- Device identifier: A randomly generated unique ID (UUID) created on your device when you first open the App. This ID is used solely to associate your expenses with your device. It is not linked to your Apple ID, name, email, phone number, or any other personal information.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Your location or GPS data
- Your contacts, photos, or files
- Your browsing history or app usage analytics
- Any data from other apps on your device
3. How We Use Your Data
Your expense data is used solely to provide the App's core functionality: recording, displaying, summarizing, and managing your personal expenses. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any purpose other than delivering the App's features to you.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on a secure server located in India (Google Cloud Platform, asia-south1 region). All communication between the App and our server is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS). Access to the server is restricted and protected by SSH key authentication and firewall rules.
5. Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your data with any third parties. Your data is never transmitted to advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers, or any external service.
6. Data Retention
Your data is retained on our servers for as long as you use the App. If you delete your data through the App (Settings → Delete My Data), all your expense records, custom categories, and device association are permanently removed from our servers.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- View your data: All your expense data is visible within the App at any time.
- Edit your data: You can edit any expense entry from the History tab.
- Delete your data: You can delete individual expenses, or delete all your data at once from the App's Settings screen. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.

8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the App, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Tracking and Advertising
The App does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not use any advertising SDKs, analytics frameworks, or tracking technologies. The device identifier generated by the App is used only within our own service and is never shared with third parties.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
